F2 version 1.1

F2 WordPress theme updated to version 1.1 with support for custom menus in WP 3.0 for the primary (horizontal) menu in the header. If a custom menu is not specified for the primary menu, the default F2 menu will be displayed in accordance with the options selected in the ‘F2 Settings’.

Also included in v1.1 is the Hindi translation by Ashish Jha.

The update was submitted to the WP theme directory on 12th July, but looks like it will take some time for the new version of the theme to be reviewed and the update to appear. Till then, the latest version of the theme can be downloaded from the F2 WP theme home page.

Quotes Collection 1.4.1

Quotes Collection plugin updated to version 1.4.1.

Problems using the plugin in WordPress 3.0 multi-site set up is addressed. The plugin is now compatible with multi-site functionality.

Tamil translation has been updated.

I request updates from translators for other language files too. A few new strings added in 1.4 and a few strings have become obsolete.

Quotes Collection plugin for WordPress version 1.4 — new version with new features.

What’s new?

  • Sequential refresh: The random quote widget need not be that random after all. You can set it such that the quotes are rotated sequentially, in the order added, latest first.
  • Automatic refresh: The user don’t have to click on the ‘Next quote’ link to get a new quote. The plugin can do it automatically. You just have to turn on the ‘Auto refresh’ option and set a time interval in the widget options. A word of warning though, it’s not advisable to turn on this feature in traffic heavy websites.
  • ‘Quotes Collection‘ admin panel is now listed as a first-level menu from being a sub-menu under ‘Tools’. Just look below the ‘Settings’ menu in your admin area.
  • 1.4 has other minor fixes, changes and improvements
