The Quotes Collection plugin for WordPress has been updated to version 1.1.
So, what’s new?
Version 1.1 comes with the much requested tagging feature. In addition to providing the author and source, quotes can also be tagged with certain keywords. This will be useful if you want to have different quote pages, say, for different subjects. So, if you want to display all quotes tagged ‘sometag’ on a certain page, edit that page and place the the code
[quote|tags=sometag] wherever you want the set of quotes to appear. Multiple tags can be specified, separated by commas. For example,
[quote|tags=funny, interesting] will display quotes tagged ‘funny’ or ‘interesting’ or both.
The plugin is now internationalized. Localization is initially available for two languages — German and Tamil. Thanks to Tobias Koch (Overkill) for the German translation. I welcome translation in more languages. If you can translate the plugin in your language, please do, and please send me the localized file so that I can add to the next version of the plugin. Let more and more people experience the joy of speaking with the plugin their own language 🙂 . If you want to translate the plugin in your language, but are not sure how to go about doing it, contact me, I’ll help you out.
Plenty of bugs fixed, plenty of issues resolved and many other small improvements here and there.
I thank all the feedback that came as comments and through email, they have been immensely helpful in improving the plugin. There are certain requests I’m not able to fulfil in this version, they may come up in a future version. Some of the feature requests have been a little complex to implement. Anyway, more feedback most welcome. 🙂

Version 1.1.1: security fix
In just over 2 hours after publishing this post announcing the release of version 1.1, I found a serious bug in the automatic upgrade function that upgrades the plugin db table from previous versions to v1.1. Thankfully I found it quickly, fixed and updated the plugin to version 1.1.1. So, if you’re using 1.1, it’s highly recommended that you upgrade to 1.1.1 before you do anything else.
